Official Philanthropy - The Themba Trust
No entrepreneur can afford to ignore the social context in which he or she is building his or her new online or offline business. In South Africa, the difference between rich and poor is among the highest - if not THE highest - in the whole world. itea makes it possible for students to take part in a 7-day volunteer project at The Themba Trust, a deep rural, non-profit organisation aimed at providing quality education services to rural youth. Youth Leadership Camp
Students participating in the itea online entrepreneurship course will be invited to travel to the Themba Trust in Dirkiesdorp, Mpumalanga, on the border to KwaZulu-Natal, to spend time with teenagers at the Sinethemba Agricultural & Technical Secondary School, in order to inspire and enocourage them to achieve their dreams. Students will assist in the facilitation of the 'Youth Leadership Camp' as part of their volunteer work during this course. Other activities included in the volunteer work may involve practical work, such a repainting classrooms and other basic maintenance tasks.
